Sacramento Homeschool PE · Ages 4–18

They Think
They're Just
Playing.

Power Play PE is a weekly homeschool PE program where kids ages 4–18 make friends, build confidence, and discover what their bodies can do. The fitness? That's just what happens when kids show up to the same place, with the same people, every single week.

The Power Play Difference

Games are the lesson. Play is the point. Growth is what happens anyway.

Relay Races
Taking turns, cheering teammates, handling wins and losses
Team Games
Communication, cooperation, reading other people
Obstacle Courses
Coordination, problem solving, "I can do hard things"
New Challenges
Courage to try, resilience to fail, confidence to try again
Who This Is For

Especially the kid you're worried about.

The athletic kid will thrive here. But Power Play was built for the kid who hasn't found their thing yet.

What Parents Worry About
  • "My kid isn't athletic. They'll feel out of place."
  • "They're shy. They'll just stand in the corner."
  • "They've never played on a team before."
  • "They'll be embarrassed next to kids who are better than them."
  • "They give up easily when things get hard."
What Actually Happens
  • It's play. There's no athletic baseline to fall short of.
  • Small groups mean no one hides. Coaches bring everyone in.
  • Every game teaches cooperation. That's the whole point.
  • Kids measure themselves against yesterday's version of themselves.
  • Safe to fail, safe to try again. That's the environment we protect.
What Our Families Tell Us

Consistent community is the hardest thing to find in homeschool life.

Our families tell us that the social side of homeschooling — the real, deep friendships — takes time and repetition to build. Power Play PE gives kids the same faces, the same coaches, and the same space every single week. That consistency is where real friendships form. And our current families? They'll tell you that themselves.

📍
Same Place
A real gym, a familiar space. Kids know where they're going and feel at home the moment they walk in.
📅
Same Time
Weekly sessions you can count on. It's already on the calendar — one less thing to figure out.
👥
Same Kids
The friendships we've watched form here are real. That happens when kids see each other week after week.
A Typical Session

Every session is different. The feeling isn't.

Kids leave sweaty, happy, and already asking when they come back. That's the goal every single time.

Warm Up
Get Moving
Fun movement games that get energy up and walls down. Kids arrive as strangers and leave as teammates.
Main Games
Play Together
Team based games and challenges built around cooperation. Every kid has a role and everyone matters.
New Challenge
Try Something Hard
One activity each session that pushes kids a little. Just enough to feel genuinely proud when they do it.
Cool Down
Bring It In
Group reflection, high fives, and a moment to land. Kids leave feeling like part of something real.
Ages 4–18 Welcome

From tiny tots to teens — everyone has a place here.

Homeschool families don't split up their kids. Bring everyone. Younger kids play and grow. Older kids build confidence and find their people. That's exactly how we designed it.

What We're Really Building

The stuff that matters way past PE class

Every game has a purpose. Here's what we're quietly building while the kids are busy having fun.

Confidence
When a kid figures something out in a game, that feeling is real. We engineer those moments on purpose, every session.
Teamwork and Cooperation
Games only work when kids work together. We design them that way so cooperation isn't taught, it's experienced.
Coordination
Running, jumping, throwing, balancing. Kids build physical literacy through play and their body learns what it can do.
A Safe Space to Try
No judgment, no comparison, no benching. Every kid gets to attempt, struggle, and try again in an environment that cheers for effort over outcome.
Social Skills
How to include someone. How to be a good sport. How to cheer for someone who isn't you. These are learned on a gym floor, not in a classroom.
Resilience
Games have winners and losers. We use both. Kids practice bouncing back in a low stakes environment where it's actually safe to lose.

Teen Movement & Confidence Class

A dedicated class for teens who want to feel comfortable in their bodies and in a gym — without the pressure of competitive athletics. Less games, more intentional movement. Coached by Abbie and Tracey. This is where the awkward phase ends.

How It Works

Three steps to get your kids on the floor

No complicated process. Email us, we sort the details, your kids show up and play.

01
Request Through Your Charter
Submit a PE request through your child's charter school. We partner with specific schools so email us and we'll confirm yours is in our network.
02
Tell Us Your Schedule
Email PowerPlayStaff@gmail.com with your available days and times. We'll get your family on the calendar and tell you exactly what to expect.
03
Show Up and Play
Water bottle and sneakers. That's the whole checklist. By session three, most parents can't believe how much their kids have come out of their shells.
Required Before First Session
Every family needs a signed waiver on file.
One submission covers all your kids. Takes about two minutes. Stays on file forever.

FAQ

Things parents ask before signing up

My child has never played a sport. Will they be okay?
More than okay. Power Play isn't a sports practice, it's a play session. No experience is assumed and no prior skills are required. We start from zero and build from there, every time.
My kid is really shy and doesn't like group activities. Is this too much?
Shy kids are our specialty. Small groups mean coaches can check in with every single child personally. We never put kids on the spot but we design every game so everyone has a role. Most shy kids surprise their parents within the first few sessions. And if group play feels like too big a step right now, ask us about personal training as a starting point.
My child is neurodivergent. Can you accommodate them?
Yes, and we genuinely want to. Whether your child has ADHD, is on the autism spectrum, has sensory sensitivities or processes the world differently in any other way, we have a coach with deep personal and professional experience in exactly this area. Our personal training option is specifically designed to meet kids exactly where they are. Email us and let's talk through what would work best for your child.
Can I bring multiple kids at different ages?
Yes, and we love it. Homeschool families bring siblings all the time. Mixed age groups are part of how we run things. Older kids step into leadership roles naturally and younger kids rise to meet the moment. One drop off, everyone plays.
Is this competitive? My child shuts down when they feel like they're losing.
We play games so some have winners, but competition is never the point. We debrief, we cheer for effort, and we reset quickly. Kids learn that losing is part of playing, not a verdict on who they are. That's one of the most valuable lessons we teach.
How does the charter school process work?
Power Play PE is an approved vendor with Feather River Charter, Cottonwood, Visions in Education, South Sutter Charter, and Clarksville Charter. If your child is enrolled in one of these schools, submit a PE vendor request and list Power Play PE. Then email us and we'll get you scheduled. If your charter isn't on this list, email us anyway — we may still be able to work with your school or get added as a vendor.
Do you accept private pay? We aren't with a charter school.
Yes, absolutely. Charter funding is a great option when it's available but it is not required. Any family can enroll and pay directly. Group PE is $99 per month and personal training with Coach Tracey is $80 per session. Just email us to get started.

Coach Abbie
Abbie co-owns Innovative Strength and Conditioning, a Sacramento gym with 16 years in the community. She created Power Play PE because she kept seeing homeschool families without access to real, structured PE in a real gym environment. As a coach and a parent herself, she built the program she wished had existed when her own kids were young. Every detail of Power Play PE comes from that place.
